hyperion

In myth, Hyperion is the Titan of watchfulness, the one who goes above. With Theia he fathered Helios, Selene and Eos: the sun, the moon and the dawn. Which makes him, in the literal sense, the origin of the day, the month and the morning. Everything that keeps time descends from him.

Saturn has a moon of the same name. It tumbles. Its rotation is chaotic in the strict mathematical sense, not merely irregular: you can say where Hyperion will be next week, but not which way it will be facing, and no amount of further measurement fixes that.

In northern California there is a coast redwood called Hyperion, the tallest living thing on Earth. Its coordinates are deliberately withheld.

Keeps the clocks. Cannot be predicted. Would rather you didn't know exactly where it is.
